The gray skies finally broke today. The sun came out this afternoon and backlit the Cathedral as it set, offering some nice views from the East End. I snapped a few shots on a rush hour walk through Shadyside.

I spent the morning in Elliot today researching a future installment of Pedestrian Pittsburgh. I stopped by the West End-Elliot Overlook to take some obligatory photographs and found a friend in the distance:

I walked a quick little loop today — Friendship Avenue to Penn Circle to Friendship Avenue — but I didn’t see the Cathedral in the distance. It made me wonder if it’s visible anywhere in East Liberty at ground level.
