Abandoned Shoes: Stripped

I found this lone heel on a Saturday morning in the Strip District, May 7, 2011.

Is it the remnants of a rowdy Friday night, or something more sinister? We’ll give the wearer the benefit of the doubt and assume the crushing occurred after the abandoning, the result of some car rolling idly down Smallman Street in the early hours of the day.

But that zipper, tugged all the way down. No car could do that.

I imagine the woman getting home one of two ways: in an awkward hobble or on the shoulders of a friend. And either would have been a sight to see on Friday night.
